Agrale S.A. is a company which is 41 years old (it shall be 42 years in October 14) of solidity and tradition, comprised by 3 industrial parks, being the only Brazilian company of 100% Brazilian capital acting in the production of vehicles, tractors and diesel engines. It is owned by Francisco Stedile Group, which embodies the companies Agrale, Agrale Montadora, Agrale Argentina, Agritech Lavrale, Fazenda Três Rios, Germani Alimentos and Fundituba. Its headquarters is located at Estrada Federal BR-116, Km 145, nº 15.104 – Bairro São Ciro, in Caxias do Sul – RS, Brazil.

Main historic events
1962 - It is created with the denomination of Indústria Gaúcha de Implementos Agrícolas S.A. (AGRISA) located in Sapucaia do Sul - RS, intended to manufacture stationary motors and two-wheel micro-tractors.
1965 - The company starts its operations effectively in October 14, when the Group Francisco Stedile acquired through Banco Regional de Desenvolvimento Empresarial (BRDE), the equity control of AGRISA, transferring it in November to Caxias do Sul.
1968 - From the initial production of micro-tractors AGRISA-BUNGARTZ and of the diesel engines AGRISA-HATZ (products resulting from technology assignment agreements of renowned German companies), AGRALE by its own technical means, developed a four-wheel micro-tractor AGRALE 4100 which is a best-seller up to now. Next, it started to produce two more models of diesel engines with HATZ technology, the two-cylinder M790 and the small one-cylinder M73.
1975 - In order to arrange its growing space needs, it opened and equipped a large industrial plant, today denominated Fábrica 1, [Plant 1] with a total area of 102,000 m2 and a built area of 34,500 m2.
1982 - Glimpsing new application opportunities for its motors and a receptive market for light trucks it developed the AGRALE TX 1100 truck, from which the current AGRALE trucks family originates.
1983 - After acquiring the cycle-motors production line of Alpina S.A, it signed a technical and commercial cooperation agreement with the Italian company MV Agusta Motorcycles SPA (CAGIVA), owner of the CAGIVA, DUCATI, HUSQVARNA and MV AGUSTA brands for the production of motorcycles and cycle-motors in Caxias do Sul. Subsequently, the production of motorcycles was transferred to Manaus Free Commerce Zone originating Agrale’s Plant 3 and 4 with 15,000 m2 of total area and 5,650 m2 of built area.
1985 - The activities of the new manufacturing plant, denominated Fábrica 2 with 200,000 m2 of total area and 27,960 m2 of built area are started, installing the motors, tractors and trucks assembly lines.
1988 – Foreseeing the spirit of what would become the Mercado Comum do Sul (MERCOSUL), Agrale signed an agreement with the traditional German Company Klockner Humboldt Deutz (DEUTZ) and its subsidiary AGCO Argentina S.A. (DEUTZ ARGENTINA), aiming an important interchange which has enabled the production in Brazil of the AGRALE-DEUTZ heavy tractors line and in Argentina, the manufacturing of DEUTZ-AGRALE trucks.
1990 –That year, Agrale opened its fifth industrial plant (Fábrica 5), with a 13,000 m2 area for the manufacturing of miscellaneous cabins and components in fiber glass.
1996 – With its policy of setting strategic alliances, it signed with the company Lombardini SRL (RUGGERINI), a traditional European manufacturer of diesel engines, a technical and commercial cooperation agreement for distribution and subsequent local integration of components.
1997 –That year represented an important moment in Agrale’s existence. All along that year, it ratified the definitive entrance of the company into the context of globalization, with important alliances signed to increment its development:
a) With Revitalizacni Traktor sro (ZETOR), a traditional and important European manufacturer of tractors and diesel engines, aiming the production of an AGRALE average-sized tractors line (three and four cylinders) from the ZETOR technology and components to meet the Brazilian and Latin-American markets;
b) With International Caminhões do Brasil Ltda. (NAVISTAR), a leading company in the market of average and heavy trucks and bus chassis of North America, for:
1. the installation in Caxias do Sul, of the INTERNATIONAL brand trucks assembler to meet the Brazilian and MERCOSUL markets;
2. the development of the industrial, production and sale capacity of the AGRALE light trucks and bus chassis;
3. the development power of other operations and projects in the vehicles and components areas.
c) with Hartford Industrial CO., LTD (HARTFORD), for the offer of street type motorcycles with four stroke, low cylinder capacity motors;
d) with Standard Motor Corporation (STANDARD MOTOR), enabling the offer of a complete line of scooters.
Another important even that year was the obtaining of the ISO 9000 series Standards Certification for tractors, trucks, bus chassis and motorcycles, evidencing the world quality standards used by the company in its products and services.
1998 - A significant agreement was signed with the company Marcopolo S.A. (MARCOPOLO), one of the world’s largest bus assemblers. Agrale develops the chassis with 5.9T PBT for the assembly of the modern Marcopolo Volare minibus.
In May, only a few months after the signing of the intentions protocol by the State government and NAVISTAR and AGRALE executives, the first INTERNATIONAL trucks began to be produced in Caxias do Sul.
2002 - The company starts the operation of its first productive plant outside Brazil, the Colombian plant, intended to produce trucks and chassis for microbuses, installed in the city of Bogota. In May 2002, Agrale launches the FURGOVAN vehicle, thus entering in a new market segment, the load van segment.
2003 - Agrale signs an agreement with Lombardini, which is one of the world’s largest stationary diesel engines manufacturers. Agrale starts to distribute its products and services in Brazil.
2004 – Agrale releases the innovating Midibus chassis line, a Pioneer in the 12T segment and also the chassis for the VNG – Vehicular Natural Gas bus. It also introduces in the market the military vehicle Agrale Marruá, designed to meet the Military Forces needs.
2005 - It opens the Distribution Center of Agrale products for the Argentinean market in Buenos Aires - Argentina.
2006 – Aiming to focus its activities on the motor vehicles and tractors segments, Agrale terminated on June 30, 2006 its commercial agreement with the Italian group MV Agusta, the manufacturer of Cagiva, Husqvarna and MV Agusta motorcycles.
2007 – Agrale introduces three new models in its vehicle line: the Truck 13000, the chassis MA 10.0 and the chassis MA 15.0. The new truck 13000 and the chassis MA 15.0 mark the entry of the company in a new and important Average-sized vehicles segment, which is the most competitive and has the largest sales volume.
In 2007 it also introduced the Tractor BX 6180.

TECHNOLOGICAL COOPERATION AGREEMENTS:

A technical-commercial agreement signed in 1996 for the distribution of one, two and three-cylinder diesel motors of the Lombardini / Ruggerini brands in Brazil and in other countries, foreseeing a local integration of components..
Zetor
Agreement signed in 1997 foreseeing the technology and components supply for the production of average sized tractors.
International
An alliance for the installation of the INTERNATIONAL truck assembly line in Caxias do Sul and the development of AGRALE’S industrial capacity and its operations of light trucks and bus chassis.
Marcopolo
Since 1998 Agrale keeps an exclusive supply agreement of the minibuses Volare chassis line. Besides the chassis, the agreement also contemplates the spare parts supply and the post-sales full services rendering through the Agrale Volare dealers network.

Midibus Line
An innovating average-sized bus chassis line, the first in Brazil for the 12 Tons range. It is ideal for a practical and quick vehicle, with an excellent internal space, taking the operating economy. It offers several options, including front or rear motorization, low floor (low entry type) or semi-low providing universal accessibility.

Regarding agricultural tractors, Agrale has the largest line of tractors available in this market, comprised of several models, rated in three lines and with powers ranging from 14.7 to 140cv.

In the year 2007 Agrale enters the military vehicles segment, with the introduction of the Agrale Marruá military vehicle. The Agrale Marruá business is a line of 4x4 all-terrain vehicles comprised of utility trucks with load capacity ranging from 500 to 1,500kg in jeep and pick-up truck versions.
The company’s purposes in this project are to offer the best military vehicle in the segment, meeting the Armed Forces’ requirements with a versatile, strong, of easy maintenance and low operating cost vehicle.
Since the start of the activities in this project the company invests constantly in the development of applications aiming to fully meet the requirements of the Brazilian armed forces’ specific applications.
The characteristics of the Agrale Maruá military project distinguished themselves in the civil market and the company is developing applications in that market by request of the services segment. The strength, resistance and versatility attributes led to a great demand of the vehicle in markets outside the armed forces.
MARKET
Agrale consolidated itself in the national and international market as a manufacturer of automotive vehicles, motors and their components. All Agrale vehicles reach the farthest points of the Country through a wide and well assembled network of approximately 550 distributors, which have trained experts and spare parts for rendering a proper technical assistance to the sold products. The Agrale line has as its basic point the obtaining of a good cost-benefit relationship with differentiated products and suitable to the needs and the specific characteristics of each market where it actuates.
The company has constantly been renewing its products, incorporating new Technologies and innovations, developing new products adapted to the market needs.
